Late yesterday afternoon after bringing in firewood, loading up the birdfeeder and doing some shoveling, I put the shovel away and stood outside for a while quietly taking in the moment! The sun had set, there was a light snow falling and it was completely silent, more serene than you can imagine! I felt a wonderful sense of peace and wished it for the rest of the world! Yes indeed, a perfect Christmas Eve moment!
Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas and all the joy of the season!
After writing the song, Main Street Christmas, I had an idea to write a second Christmas song. This one was going to be about two brothers plotting mayhem on Christmas Eve and the fallout from their dastardly deed.
The idea stayed with me for a couple of years and then one day it came to me and within a couple of hours, I had written The Christmas Choice. Rather than a song though, it ended up being a children’s poem.
I am sending you my Christmas wish list in the hopes that you can really come through this year. You see, it’s been another difficult year here south of the North Pole, so I’m really counting on you.
I don’t want you to think that I’m putting pressure on you or being selfish. I know you’ve got a lot to do and a lot of wishes to grant. But it’s been a long time since I sent you my list and since Jesus doesn’t appear to be making a second coming … despite all the promises I heard about … perhaps you can fill the void.
