hummingbirdA couple of afternoons ago I was out on the lawn, enjoying the sunshine and practising Qigong. In the middle of my practice, a tiny hummingbird zipped by on its way to check out the flowers by our deck! I am so awed by these brave little creatures! It was a moment of admiration and I felt awesome!

  1. Yesterday I walked through the redwoods near my house. A few days earlier it had rained lightly here in Northern California, the first rain in months during this typically dry time of year. The scents of the forest were awakened. I could sense the aroma of pine, redwood bark, the newly moistened earth, the grasses. I realized how little rain it takes to reawaken nature, and how many tiny yet miraculous phenomena are always around to awaken us. The season and my attitude had shifted. I felt awesome!
