My Journey with Parkinson’s … A Natural Approach: Post 247 … Live a life of non-judgment!

reliefI woke up this morning feeling better than I have felt in a long time. The last week has been particularly challenging mainly due to the fear I have been feeling!

I’m feeling better thanks to an insight I had yesterday. The insight was this: it is not our responsibility or our purpose to judge or label our experiences. It is not our purpose to consider experiences as good or bad, successful or a failure or any other such judgment. More importantly, it is not our responsibility or purpose to judge ourselves or others in a similar fashion. We are not meant to think of ourselves as good or bad, failures, losers, cowards, rich, poor or any similar positive or negative label. We are simply meant to experience, learn and evolve. Our purpose is to do the best we can and participate willingly and joyfully in the flow of life.

This insight is particularly applicable to those of us living with a challenging health condition. Judging and labeling this condition as a horrible disease or any other such negative description puts us in a state of victimhood, which works against our recovery efforts.

We are not meant to live in fear, much of which is the result of judgment. What is more, when we judge [particularly others] we become afraid of being judged. Rather, we are meant to live in acceptance, trust and faith. Acceptance that we’re going to have challenging experiences. Trust that our life is unfolding the way it is meant to and we are meant to have these experiences. Faith that no matter what happens, we will be okay.

Have an awesomely accepting day!
